00:00 The Department of Health is still working to reduce the spread of typhus and pertussis in the country.
00:06 According to the Department of Health, the number of cases of typhus in the country has been reduced to 408 from April 14 to 27
00:17 compared to 442 from March 31 to April 13.
00:23 The number of cases of typhus in the country has been reduced to 2,500 since January,
00:30 where only five people have died.
00:32 83% of the cases of typhus are children under the age of 10,
00:39 which is the most at-risk age group that can be infected by typhus.
00:44 Meanwhile, the number of people infected by pertussis has also decreased,
00:48 where 375 people were infected with the so-called disease from April 14 to 27
00:55 compared to almost 500 from March 31 to April 13.
00:59 Since January, more than 2,500 cases of pertussis have been reported in the country,
01:05 where almost 100 of them have died.
01:08 I would like to thank Health Secretary Ted Erbosa and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
01:13 for their support for the vaccination efforts against typhus and pertussis.
