00:00This season marks an incredible end to Jürgen Klopp's time at the club. It started slow
00:10but it was a plan that the owners invested in and it seemed to work eventually with the
00:16success they had. Reaching those Champions League finals, for example, sometimes you
00:21may look at it and think that it was a few missed opportunities. Obviously, an incredible
00:25run in that Premier League season to come second was unbelievable and they were hard
00:32done by there. How do you summarise Jürgen Klopp's era and how difficult will it actually
00:38be to replace him? We saw it with Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, it's so hard
00:44to replace an all-time great.
00:47I don't think it could have gone much better because he was competing with a Manchester
00:51City side who have a lot of wealth and have the best manager in the world. Even in recent
00:58seasons we've seen Arsenal splash the cash as well. I know they've mounted a title charge
01:03in the past two seasons but they've brought players in to do that. Liverpool have spent
01:09money, let's not say that they haven't, because they have. Some of it has been funded by player
01:14sales. Obviously, Leite Coutinho was the real catalyst for that. As I say, when Jürgen
01:22Klopp came into the club in 2015, Liverpool were in the doldrums somewhat. Some clubs
01:30would obviously love to be in that position but in terms of what Liverpool expected, what
01:33are you? They haven't won the league for, at that point, 25 years and Jürgen Klopp's
01:40done now. He's won the Champions League, he's got two finals and there will be some
01:44missed opportunities. Definitely, that final in Paris where Liverpool were the better side
01:51but they just couldn't find their way past Courtois and Real Madrid goal. What he's done
01:57is he's transformed Liverpool back to the European elite. Even when Liverpool were in
02:02the Champions League in 2005 and they were in the Champions League consistency, would
02:06you have said they were a real powerhouse in Europe? No, they weren't. They weren't
02:09challenging for titles. They got to the Champions League final twice but they wouldn't attract
02:17the best of the best players. You would say that Liverpool have got that pull now and
02:22Arnie Slott, who is going to come in, he's got a massive challenge ahead to replace the
02:26boys of Jürgen Klopp. Not just as a manager but as a whole order around the club because
02:30what he's done to galvanise and rejuvenate the club. There wouldn't have been many, if
02:37anyone, who could have done it like he has. He needs to stay at the top level really because
02:42that's what Jürgen Klopp has built and Liverpool won't be wanting to go back to the derriere
02:49of Hodgson, Brendan Rodgers. They're at the top of the European ladder now and they won't
02:56want to lose the position.
