00:05 From a solar storm to Leeds Marathon, it's been an exciting weekend for Yorkshire.

00:11 Yes, it's been the Leeds Marathon for Rob Burrows where Lindsay herself ran the marathon,

00:28 Yes, we had Northern Lights here in Yorkshire at the weekend.

00:34 It was the British Academy of Film and Television Awards last night.

00:38 Yes, the BAFTAs were back.

00:40 Whilst there was shock, there was no award for ITV's Mr Bates vs the Post Office, the

00:47 most monumental drama of last year based on a true story.

00:55 But first of all, Happy Valley, yes that BBC series, How Can You Forget It, won two awards.

01:03 One included Sarah Lancashire winning another award.

01:07 She won the Best Actress prize for her work in the final season of the show.

01:12 The show also took home the P&O Cruises Memorable Moment Award for its final confrontation between

01:19 two long-standing nemesis, Police Sergeant Catherine K Wood, obviously that's Sarah Lancashire,

01:27 and also Tommy Lee Royce, James Norton.

01:30 Those who feel infuriated that Mr Bates vs the Post Office didn't win an award, basically

01:37 when the drama was broadcast, it was after the broadcasting deadline for this year's

01:43 BAFTAs, so will be eligible for next year's BAFTAs.

01:47 And that's of course based on the shocking Horizon scandal which has literally dominated

01:53 the headlines ever since.

01:56 As we come into the summer months and the sun is shining some days, many of us are thinking

02:01 about going bathing in our local river.

02:05 Well, good news and some bad news, that two rivers in Yorkshire have been designated water

02:11 bathing status, so of course Ilkley Lido and also the River Nidd at Knaresborough.

02:17 While it's great that Knaresborough and Ilkley Lido have been granted this bathing water

02:23 status by the government, it doesn't actually mean that the water is clean.

02:28 But the good news is there'll be routine testing by the Environment Agency throughout the summer

02:35 months.

02:36 So from now until September there'll be routine testing so you'll know at what point the water's

02:42 at.

02:57 Hundreds of million pounds are being spent at the grid in East Yorkshire taking the North

03:03 Sea wind energy.

03:06 Seventy years after the launch of the supergrid, it now needs a massive overhaul to transport

03:12 electricity from where it is increasingly being produced in the world's biggest wind

03:17 farms off Yorkshire in the relatively shallow North Sea.
