02:03 All right, mommy Marlene, share to us
02:05 the story of your three children.
02:08 They have finished their studies and have their own careers.
02:11 What are their professions and what are they doing now?
02:15 I'm sure you have a big contribution to their success in life.
02:19 Mommy Marlene.
02:20 I have three children.
02:23 The eldest is the only son.
02:26 He's 35.
02:28 He's a graduate of Bachelor of Animal Science,
02:33 but he's also a licensed agriculturist.
02:36 For a while, he was also with the provincial government
02:39 in the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.
02:41 But later, after COVID, he went on business.
02:47 He's now into agrivet trading.
02:51 He has his own small company, RCF Agrivet.
02:55 And then, because his husband is a veterinarian,
02:59 so it's like they're complementing their businesses.
03:04 So, they have a son, 8 years old.
03:08 That's my post-college mission.
03:10 And Claude Marx, 8 years old.
03:13 The second and third girls are Melina.
03:17 She's a graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in advertising.
03:21 Also, she has trained as a caregiver and a hospital aide.
03:26 She has a test accreditation because she was invited by an auntie in Canada,
03:30 but she didn't go.
03:32 She prefers to stay here in the Philippines.
03:34 And the third one is Melgelin.
03:37 She's also a graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts,
03:40 but majoring in digital media arts.
03:43 She's trained in Japanese language.
03:46 So, they're both connected with--
03:49 They're now working under a U.S.-based company,
03:53 the Seven Seas Entertainment.
03:56 Because that's their real job, fine arts.
03:59 That's what they really want.
04:00 For a while, actually, they also went into government.
04:03 But it's just for the contractual experience.
04:05 But right now, they're happy with their work because it's really fine arts-related.
04:10 But their job is at night.
04:13 They sleep during the day.
04:15 So, actually, the two of them are in a relationship.
04:20 But they said they prefer the second one, Melina, because she likes dogs.
04:25 She has a lot of dogs.
04:26 The third one is Melgelin.
04:28 She's into cats.
04:30 Our two grandchildren are into cats.
04:33 That's so funny.
04:35 Mommy's really into cats.
04:37 And you're right, Mommy, because you're happy with what you're doing, especially with her kids.
04:42 Mommy's very supportive, right?
04:44 Mommy, you were named as a mother of a child in 2018.
04:48 Now, aside from being a master in multitasking,
04:51 what are the qualities that a mother should have?
04:56 First, of course, you should be caring.
05:00 That's what mothers are all about, understanding.
05:04 And you should listen to your children.
05:07 I treat my children, even though they're small,
05:10 they're like adults, but I know that they can be like an adult.
05:14 When I talk to them, we don't have baby talk.
05:17 We talk straight.
05:19 I consider them adults.
05:21 It's important to build trust.
05:24 In any relationship, there should be trust between each other.
05:27 So, communication should be open.
05:30 And then, of course, respect for their opinions.
05:35 I'm not a strict mother.
05:37 I do more of role modeling.
05:40 If they ask me what I want to do, I really prioritize it.
05:44 You should be involved.
05:46 You shouldn't just be lazy or lazy and not do anything.
05:51 So, basically, we're just involved, even if I have little time.
05:56 Especially when they were small, because they were in a northern city.
06:01 My husband was there after he retired from the military.
06:04 He was in a private security job in a sugar center.
06:11 The children are with him because I was starting at Capital.
06:14 So, I had to focus on my job.
06:17 I was going home twice a week.
06:20 It was hard because we didn't have cell phones yet.
06:23 So, we had to go home to be able to talk to them or discuss with them, whatever.
06:28 But then, my priority is always to be there when they have work to do at school.
06:34 If they're sick, I'm really absent from the office.
06:37 They're the ones I prioritize.
06:39 But that's what's good about my office.
06:41 I have trained my staff to be also self-reliant.
06:44 And you can rely on them to work.
06:47 It's not hard to be absent from your office to take care of your family.
06:53 That's amazing, mommy.
06:54 That's the prioritization and delegation.
06:56 That's great.
06:57 You have a great work-life balance.
06:59 Correct.
07:00 You're doing your work and your children's work at the same time.
07:03 Well, advance happy Mother's Day to you, mommy Marlene.
07:07 Speaking of Mother's Day, mommy, what's your message to your friends who are watching this, especially since Mother's Day is coming up?
07:16 Of course, there are a lot of roles for a mother.
07:21 I just experienced this when I retired.
07:25 I became a full-time mother and a full-time grandmother.
07:29 Because my grandchild is on an apostolic mission.
07:31 But I still want to tell them that they really need self-care.
07:39 We mothers have a lot of responsibilities but we don't have to work hard to earn a living.
07:47 Because it's repetitive to work at home.
07:50 I found out that it's hard to be a full-time housewife.
07:54 So I respect those who are housewives, those who are full-time mothers and wives.
08:00 We need self-care.
08:03 We need to take care of our mental health.
08:05 Of course, we need to take care of our children because we have a positive attitude.
08:12 We should be happy so that our children's family and environment will be happy.
08:21 So that they will grow up to be confident and of course, have love and respect for their family, including their grandchildren.
08:28 They should be happy.
08:31 Congratulations, Mommy Marlene, on all the achievements of your children and family.
08:38 We salute you and all the mommies out there.
08:42 Again, Advance, Happy Mother's Day to you. Thank you.
08:45 Happy Mother's Day.
08:47 Thank you. Good morning.
