00:11facetime i got a one-star review i'm a waitress by the way i'm a waitress um and i got a one-star
00:15review i will put what she put here hold on pause me darling take a minute read that review
00:23give you your time give you your time fingers on lips so i got given this one-star review
00:29and i was devastated because like i really didn't realize i was being that bad i had a super bad
00:34day and the child was screaming baby baby a lot if you've ever worked in hospitality i swear to
00:42god you slip up one time it is over do you know how many times like i've cried after a hospitality
00:47shift and i've been waitressing for 10 years um i started off as a kp and then head waitress now
00:53um i actually quit my job but that's baby that is a different story stay tuned for that anyway
00:57i had a family in the big family that was in on a sunday i had a cold i had a migraine i came in
01:04anywhere i had an optical migraine i came in because i didn't want to let the team down
01:08i was taking lots of tablets let me just give you an update they're not to know that it's not their
01:12job to know that okay how i got this is by being overworked and by being very sick actually but
01:21still coming in because i just i have to pay rent at the end of the day and so i came in and
01:28listen the child was doing what children do and it was having a little bit of a tantrum and
01:35screaming a lot when you've got an optical migraine when you're a bit sick you are so
01:41noise sensitive and i'm not baby i'm not gonna hold you i was uncomfortable i was uncomfortable
01:46a hundred percent it was probably visible yeah i know i know i slipped up i did that really crazy
01:55thing and i fucking slipped up like i don't ever want to make anyone feel uncomfortable in my time
02:00as being this waitress because i'm here to look after you and if i make you feel like you're not
02:04being looked after or that you are not welcome i'm not doing my job right however baby however
02:12i was sick and your child was screaming a lot and and i come from a family of seven i get that's what
02:20kids do and so i said to my manager i was like should we ask them to maybe like go to the terrace
02:25we have a heated terrace outside um that a lot of families go to or like they'll go around the
02:33kitchen with the child just to sort of distract them from the from those huge super huge emotions
02:38that they're feeling uh but she thought that i was trying to tell her to get out
02:43and so yeah um she walked out and i like as she was walking out she's like don't worry we're
02:49leaving we're leaving i was like what and she's like yeah yeah yeah like we're leaving and i think
02:53she could see my discomfort but also baby customers were looking at me as if i should sort out the
02:58issue because it was my section um and and and so there's a lot there's a lot to play in in this
03:07all of that to say one star review in the flesh and so she wrote in an email and she wrote a review
03:17naming me naming me okay and if you name me well now this information is mine
03:25and there's a t-shirt that is here okay um i'm also going to sell t-shirts with the one star

03:36anyway anyway the review came through i thought i was gonna get fired i didn't um and she's like
03:42we will never be back we will she was so rude and maybe i might have been rude but the child
03:47was screaming a lot and like i had a i had a bad moment 100 and this is what i'm saying when it
03:54comes to hostility like rarely rarely are we offered any grace or any understanding when it
04:01comes to just having enough kills a day it is so customer facing it is so oh it just it takes so
04:09much energy to be 100 and i pride myself in my work maybe i've got enough five star reviews to
04:15speak for me and enough years in the game to speak for me but when it came to that review it broke me
04:21because i don't i don't want to make people feel that way but i understand people can make mistakes
04:25i fucked up the other day really hard like super hard and a customer threatened me um
04:32and then threw two pounds on my face that's a different story let me know if you want to hear
04:35about that i've got so many stories about hospitality um but just want to come for a
04:41little bit of grace i know that like hospitality is such a demanding job and it can take so much
04:48from you but rarely is it actually respected it's looked as like a lower um a lower job
04:56and i never understood why i've been in the game for 10 years and people don't think it's a hard
05:00job it is a hard job like it's very difficult to do right and if you get it wrong one time
05:05you might get a motherfucking t-shirt out of it baby but yeah i'm in the new york post i'm in all
