Diners hold noses as hot pot restaurant flooded by raw sewage

Diners at a hotspot restaurant were soaked in dirty water when a sewage pipe burst.The accident left brownish-yellow water flooding onto the floor and covering some of the guests in the restaurant in the city of Chengdu, in Sichuan, China, on April 30.It is unclear what caused it to break, and the restaurant tried to downplay the accident saying that it was actually only a water pipe despite the dirty coloured water that flooded over the floor.Guests also complained about a bad smell.Meanwhile, the restaurant promised to compensate all those affected and temporarily closed for cleaning purposes. The pipe was repaired overnight.They said that the broken pipe is the responsibility of the property above, and they would be seeking compensation.
