Textured vegetable protein, or t.v.p., is the ideal meat substitute. It is made from soy and is therefore very high in protein. You can make vegetarian burgers patties with it but you can also use it in almost any other recipe which normally takes meat. Use it instead of ground meat for a vegetarian loaf or "meat" balls with your pasta.
Easy to use, you just add hot water.
