00:00My name is Marianne McGregor and I'm a jazz singer based in Glasgow in Scotland and today
00:20we're in St Luke's in Glasgow promoting Glasgow Jazz Festival. It's a big honour to be included
00:26in Glasgow Jazz Festival. I've done it a few times now and it's always a really exciting
00:32time and there's lots of variety and things to go see and as a performer it's just really
00:37nice to be part of Glasgow's little hub of jazz and to do something once a year that's
00:43so special. I think it's really exciting because there are so many different styles of jazz
00:48being played and things becoming intertwined and audiences maybe go to see one thing and
00:54then hear another act that broadens their horizons of what they see jazz as so that's
00:59really exciting to be part of. I think just like a really high level of musicianship, people
01:04doing really exciting new projects and just things that push boundaries but still sound
01:11really good. So I'm hosting one of the late night sessions this year which is a lot of
01:16fun and it's kind of where some of the artists who maybe did a gig earlier that day will
01:22come and let loose and it's a great place for improvisation and collaboration. The Glasgow
01:27audiences are always good. Obviously the Jazz Festival has a great reputation and people
01:34know that they're coming to see quality and we get good audiences and jazz loving audiences
01:38which is important as well. So the festival is from the 19th to the 23rd of June and you
01:44can get tickets at jazzfest.co.uk.
