At the Labour Day celebration where Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim launched the National Human Resources Policy Framework on Wednesday (May 1), Human Resources Minister Steven Sim said the framework addresses key aspects, including equitable compensation and job welfare.

00:15 We are aware that minimum wage is not enough, especially for those with simple income.
00:24 The government's strategy to improve the welfare of Malaysian workers is to introduce progressive wage base
00:35 to improve the welfare of Malaysian workers.
00:39 The progressive wage base project implemented by the Ministry of Economy
00:44 is expected to start in June with the target of 1,000 companies in Malaysia.
00:51 More than 1 million Malaysian workers will benefit from the implementation of the progressive wage base project this year.
01:01 Ladies and gentlemen,
01:04 We are aware that a better wage base is closely related to higher income,
01:12 and higher income can be achieved with higher skills.
01:18 This year, the Ministry of Human Resources will go all out
01:24 to implement high-value skills training for Malaysian workers.
01:29 We will use funds in the Ministry of Human Resources,
01:33 almost RM2.56 billion to provide various skills training to Malaysian workers.
01:42 There are various special offers. To implement the 3K strategic mission,
01:50 we are proud to introduce the basic human resources framework for a country that is committed to Malaysia.
01:59 This basic framework will be launched by YAB PMX in a short while.
02:06 This document will be produced after taking into account the feedback of the stakeholders and the public
02:12 through a session involving the Tumpu Bincang, Town Hall and Kaji Selidik portal on the strip.
02:20 More than 2,000 feedbacks have been received
02:23 and a consideration has been made to produce this basic human resources framework.
