00:00Another New York Congressman, Mike Lawler.
00:04Well, thank you, Mr. Speaker, for being here in New York.
00:11I want Palestinians to be free, too, from their oppressor, Hamas.
00:17And every single one of you students that support Hamas are an absolute abomination.
00:24It is shameful, shameful that you would support a terrorist organization
00:29that butchered and beheaded and burned innocent women, children and babies.
00:35I went to Israel a month after the attack on October 7th
00:40and I watched a 21-minute unedited video, raw footage of the attack.
00:46I watched exactly what Hamas did.
00:49And sadly, sadly here in America, we have students
00:54endorsing the butchering and brutality of a terrorist organization.
00:59If you want a ceasefire, the fastest way for a ceasefire to occur
01:05is for Hamas to surrender and to release the hostages.
01:09And if you can't call for that, you are a pathetic embarrassment
01:14to this institution and to students everywhere.
01:18It is time for President Shafik to resign in disgrace.
01:23She has lost control of this campus.
01:26She has lost control of this institution.
01:29And after listening to her comments inside,
01:32it is clear that she has no intention of getting this university under control
01:38and ensuring the safety and well-being of every student.
01:42That is what is entitled to students attending this institution.
01:47If the students are not safe, if the institution will not act,
01:52Congress has a responsibility to do so, and we will.
