00:00Hi, I'm Dr. Tanya Elliott, board certified allergist, and I'm here to share some tips
00:09about allergy season.
00:10If you experience outdoor allergies, number one, you want to leave off your shoes when
00:15you come into the home.
00:17Number two, you want to change your clothes as soon as you come inside so you're not bringing
00:21the pollen into your home and then plopping on your couch.
00:24And number three, you want to make sure that you add either an afternoon or an evening
00:29shower into your routine.
00:31A lot of times, patients will come to me and say they have bad morning allergy symptoms
00:35and it's oftentimes because they brought pollen right into the bedroom with them.
00:40Now, if you're experiencing symptoms, take an antihistamine like Zyrtec at the first
00:46sign of your symptoms.
00:47It kicks in within an hour.
00:49It gives you 24 hours of long-lasting relief.
00:52I'm also a big fan of the children's product that's chewable, tastes good, and is dye-free.
00:58But the goal here is to not limit your daily activities, but to make sure that you have
01:02symptom management on hand.
01:04Now, if you need more information, you can check out Zyrtec.com.
01:08You can also look at ZyrTalk, which are really helpful and useful videos that break down
01:13the science in ways that are fun, engaging, and easy to understand.
