00:03 - Let's take a look at what the Golden State Warriors
00:04 have done over the past couple of years.
00:06 2020, missed the playoffs.
00:08 2021, lost in the play-in tournament.
00:11 2022, NBA champions.
00:13 2023, lost in round number two.
00:16 And 2024, lost in the play-in tournament.
00:18 The future of the Golden State Warriors
00:21 is what for you right now, Davis?
00:23 - I mean, they have some tough questions
00:27 to ask of themselves.
00:28 They have the most expensive roster in NBA history.
00:32 They have multiple of their great players
00:35 whose contracts are going to be,
00:37 they're gonna be done soon.
00:40 Klay Thompson's contract expires.
00:42 They have Chris Paul, who is non-guaranteed for next year,
00:46 which means that they can get rid of him.
00:48 So they can shave, that's about 80 million
00:51 off of their books right there.
00:52 They're also gonna have to make a decision on Draymond Green
00:55 who they did sign to a contract extension,
00:58 but I actually think he's on a cap number
01:00 that they could move if they attached a draft pick.
01:03 He makes $24 million and they have the bones.
01:08 So you go with Curry, you go with Kaminga,
01:10 you go with Moses Moody, you go with Podjemski,
01:13 and that's kind of your starting lineup for next season.
01:16 I don't think there's any chance
01:17 that's actually what they do.
01:19 I think they end up probably retaining Klay Thompson
01:22 on a relatively team-friendly contract,
01:24 particularly after how bad he was in this game.
01:27 Like if you just look out in the market,
01:29 who's given Klay Thompson $37 million a year?
01:33 You know, are the Pistons gonna do it?
01:35 You know who actually, he actually,
01:36 even in this state of being,
01:38 would actually be a great Orlando Magic player
01:40 because they have the defense
01:41 to absorb his shortcomings on that.
01:43 And they just like, the Magic are just begging
01:46 for some air on offense.
01:48 It's sad to see that this is gonna kind of be
01:50 the end of Curry's career.
01:53 You know, it's definitely, this is not the 98 bulls, right?
01:55 They just are not good.
01:57 'Cause the Western Conference also is just so good.
02:00 I mean, like the Oklahoma City Thunder
02:02 kind of coming out of nowhere to be the one seed.
02:05 I would imagine that probably was not in their projections
02:07 as an organization that they would have to deal with that.
02:10 The Timberwolves with their twin towers,
02:12 you know, that's all working out.
02:13 I think the future is probably,
02:15 we see the same exact guys running back next year.
02:18 They're, again, the most expensive team in the NBA.
02:20 They probably win 47 games.
02:23 Is 47 games gonna be, and Chris Paul won't be back.
02:25 They're not gonna renew his contract.
02:28 So it'll be more Pajemski and more Moses Moody next year.
