00:00 It's a project mostly by late developers, a photographic group, well started by late developers

00:07 and then we've put it out to other artists within the Corby Collective who have helped us with the

00:13 signage and with ideas. At the moment we're collecting stories about washing, how do you do

00:20 yours, you'd be surprised how particular people are about the way they want to hang the washing out or

00:27 how they feel about it. For those we've got two camps, those who put it in the tumble dryer,

00:32 I think they're very marginal and the majority of people, mostly women,

00:38 really love to see a line of washing blowing in the wind. Well there's people who match the pegs

00:48 with the colour of the item on the line. To me that seemed quite extreme. There are people who do

00:57 hang their washing out large to small, sometimes it's just themed with it'll be all trousers or

01:07 all shirts but it's very particular, very particular. This work hasn't got any particular outcomes,

01:16 prescribed outcomes, but we've already identified lots of themes and I think there might be a

01:24 theatre piece come out of this. We've identified the dances we do when we fold sheets up that we

01:32 all recognise, there's stories that are coming together, so we're at the gathering stage now

01:38 and there's people that are talking about music being involved so I think it'd be lovely to have

01:44 a theatrical piece. I love these photographs so we've always had our own washing and obviously

01:53 we've got pictures of the actors. I think that makes it really enjoyable to go and talk about.

02:00 And it is quite interesting because some of the things that they came up with,

02:08 like the sheets with shadows so it shows through with the sun, it sort of did, as the name suggests,

02:18 elevate it because it made it a little bit of art. You looked at it that way and it was quite good.

02:25 I think like this morning I hung some out and I was looking at it because the windstop was

02:33 blowing for once and it was billowing quite well with the pillowcase and everything. It was really good.
