00:02 - Hi, I'm Dr. Tanya Elliott, board certified allergist,
00:07 and I'm here to share some tips about allergy season.
00:10 If you experience outdoor allergies,
00:12 number one, you wanna leave off your shoes
00:15 when you come into the home.
00:17 Number two, you want to change your clothes
00:19 as soon as you come inside
00:20 so you're not bringing the pollen into your home
00:22 and then plopping on your couch.
00:24 And number three, you wanna make sure
00:27 that you add either an afternoon or an evening shower
00:30 into your routine.
00:31 A lot of times patients will come to me
00:33 and say they have bad morning allergy symptoms,
00:35 and it's oftentimes because they brought pollen
00:38 right into the bedroom with them.
00:40 Now, if you're experiencing symptoms,
00:43 take an antihistamine like Zyrtec
00:45 at the first sign of your symptoms.
00:47 It kicks in within an hour,
00:49 it gives you 24 hours of long lasting relief.
00:52 I'm also a big fan of the children's product
00:54 that's chewable, tastes good, and is dye free.
00:58 But the goal here is to not limit your daily activities,
01:01 but to make sure that you have symptom management on hand.
01:04 Now, if you need more information,
01:06 you can check out zyrtec.com.
01:08 You can also look at Zyr-Talk,
01:10 which are really helpful and useful videos
01:13 that break down the science in ways that are fun,
01:15 engaging, and easy to understand.
