00:00 Hi everyone, my name is Glenn Quigley. I'm an author originally from Dublin and

00:04 based in Lisbon and I have a new novel out now. It's called Teacup Promises.

00:08 It's a contemporary novel about four people - Andrew, his boyfriend Jack, Jack's

00:14 wife Harriet and Harriet's lover Stephen. Andrew is turning 40 and the rest of the

00:19 characters are in their 60s. The book is told across six installments and each

00:24 installment is set a little further back in time and there are some surprises and

00:29 twists along the way that make you rethink what you think you already know.

00:32 It's dramatic, it's funny, it's sad in places and happy in others. It's a

00:38 very character-driven novel and as the story goes along you get to see how the

00:42 characters came to be in the situation they're in and how they justify it to
