Migrants relocated from Paris ahead of Olympic Games

00:06 capital gets ready to begin its 100 days countdown of the start of the Olympic Games. About 50

00:12 people, mostly women and children aged 3 to 10, were relocated on a bus to a temporary

00:18 government housing in eastern France.

00:20 These are families, these are minors, these are our patients, these are people with whom

00:23 we try to be supportive. And now, in the name of the Olympic Games, all we are offering

00:27 is to go far away from Paris, to Besançon or Marseille.

00:30 Aid workers have expressed concern that the move is the beginning of a broader effort

00:34 by Paris authorities to clear out migrants in the capital before the Games.

00:38 These proposals are not adapted. There are places in Paris, but they are only places

00:45 for the Olympic Games. So, in fact, it is only about social cleansing and invisibilization

00:50 by the region.

00:51 Many of the families are from French-speaking African countries.

00:54 Today, we are going to go to Provence, but it is better to stay in the country with the

01:01 children. It is not safe, it is tiring.

01:09 Olympic organizers have said they are working to find solutions. Aid groups have distributed

01:14 food, blankets and diapers and helped some of them find temporary housing for a night
