Is Cardiff’s high street dying?

We speak to the people of Cardiff about how important the high street is, and whether it will survive in the future.

00:05 I don't sort of come into town as much as I used to. I find it, you know, a bit too

00:10 busy for me, but I prefer my online shopping, but then obviously we all like to start the

00:18 We were just about to go to Wilko, and we were like, oh, I wish that was still open.

00:22 But, yeah, a lot of shops are shut, and in the centre as well, there's a lot of them,

00:27 and some of them just move around a lot. I think it's the cost of living, like the rent,

00:31 you know, is increasing, and shops are really struggling.

00:34 I don't know if everyone gets it, but I quite like just kind of crossing over and going,

00:39 oh, I need to go into, I don't know why I was dressed like this, I need to go into Sports

00:44 Direct and get a hockey ball, and then I'm going to go over and go into WH Smith and

00:49 get a book or something like that. I quite like just kind of high street shops, and I

00:53 quite like the humbleness of them. There's something in there, like a big kind of, like

00:57 megalithic structure of a Tesco.
