00:00 Hey folks, welcome to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Today we're riding Harley
00:05 Davidson's 2024 CVO Road Glide ST. This is Harley Davidson's top of the range
00:12 hot-rodded, banger style cruiser. This thing's all new for the 2024 model year.
00:21 It is based around Harley Davidson's recently introduced 2023 Road Glide CVO
00:28 which we rode and reviewed officially this past summer. Now this particular
00:37 CVO Road Glide ST is more performance orientated. MSRP is right around
00:46 $43,000 where last summer's Road Glide CVO and its up spec whiskey meat paint
00:55 was nearly $49,000. So a little bit less expensive for that reduced cost you get
01:01 a much more high performance banger motorcycle. This thing has a nearly 2
01:08 liter 45 degree V-twin engine. It doesn't have the adjustable variable valve
01:14 timing that that Road Glide CVO had this summer. So it's four valve cylinder
01:22 heads are fixed in that they don't have a variable valve timing. Now this
01:28 particular engine benefits just like the CVO did this past summer from liquid
01:35 cooled cylinder heads. So the cylinder heads in this bike are water-cooled and
01:40 that is the deal. I really like this Road Glide, the CVO Road Glide ST because
01:48 it's got this awesome Screaming Eagle air intake on it. It also has a nice set
01:55 of twin pipes that really bring out the character in this vehicle. Harley-Davidson
02:01 did some nice modifications to the powertrain. The air box now has just
02:09 around one gallon just over a gallon of capacity. The throttle bodies are also
02:13 larger up to 58 millimeters. Harley-Davidson also changed the air intake the way that
02:22 the air intakes are shaped so the air has a straighter passage into the engine
02:29 that helps increase the velocity and that along with the bigger throttle
02:34 bodies helps this engine push more air. More air means more combustion. More
02:39 combustion means more fun! Woo!
02:43 Yes!
02:49 As usual this CVO Road Glide ST puts power back to an 18-inch rear wheel via
02:57 belt final drive on the left-hand side of the vehicle and a six-speed gearbox
03:03 with out a heel shifter. Gosh this 800 pound bike sure is agile and very easy
03:14 to change directions.
03:18 Now this Road Glide ST also benefits from a track riding mode. If you can even
03:25 believe it, it fitted a track riding mode. I don't know how many beggar people are
03:31 going to be doing track days on this bike but if you want to you can select
03:35 track riding mode and that gives the throttle a more aggressive sharper
03:40 response and just more racy feeling when you're out on the track. Yeah!
03:49 God this thing's a to ride. Now just like the 2023 Road Glide CVO this bike
03:57 benefits from a 47 millimeter Showa inverted BPF style fork. That's a similar
04:05 type of front suspension that you see on a sport bike and that really helps not
04:11 only increase the cornering clearance but it gives this vehicle a little bit
04:16 more posture when you're riding fast. Up back we have a pair of rear shocks.
04:24 Gas-charged rear shocks with just around three inches of suspension out back and
04:31 nearly five up front. Hanging off that front suspension is a set of wave style
04:39 320 millimeter rotors. Big thick ones. Good for dissipating heat and a pair of
04:46 Brembo bottle block calipers. Match to this conventional master cylinder
04:54 through stainless steel brake lines.
04:59 That gives us the ability to shed speed on this 800 pound bike really well. Now
05:07 Harley-Davidson wanted to showcase the performance aspect of its CVO Road Glide
05:13 ST so that's why we're whaling on this thing at the track. Yeah! Oh yeah those
05:21 triple disc brakes. Oh yeah. They're shedding speed in a hurry. It's worth
05:27 mentioning it just like the CVO vehicle we tested this past summer this product
05:33 has proportional braking. So over 25 miles per hour the brake circuit will
05:40 automatically add pressure to the front or rear circuit based on data driven by
05:48 the IMU. That's right this vehicle has a six axis IMU which basically gives the
05:54 vehicle positional awareness and helps power its traction control and ABS
06:03 programming. We're doing some photos here so I'm spaced out from the photographer
06:09 they yelled at me so that was racing too hard earlier but I couldn't help myself
06:14 all this performance in this 45 degree V-twin. What was I supposed to do? Of course I was
06:22 supposed to race and haul ass. Yeah! Gosh you can't believe how agile this 800
06:29 pound bagger is. It's literally unbelievable. Yes that tidal wave of
06:34 torque. This thing is just a hoot to ride.
06:39 All right there's James Raspoli up there. Let's get him in the draft. We're in the
06:47 draft now baby. Should we pass him? Let's pass him. Just joking.
06:54 As usual we have this nice bold and beautiful 12 plus inch color TFT. This
07:02 dashboard is awesome. It's super looks super good. The menu navigation obviously
07:09 we're riding on tracks we're not able to show that to you but the menu navigation is
07:12 super solid and it's generally a very awesome and functional display. Well
07:20 folks that's a quick rundown of Harley-Davidson's 2024 CVO Road Glide ST.
07:26 This thing shits and gets and it's an absolute hoot to ride. If you're someone
07:32 who wants the top spec performance from an American cruiser I think you're gonna
07:39 have a good time on this Road Glide CVO ST because it's awesome.
