00:00 The Challenge Cup takes centre stage this weekend. We've got some intriguing last-16
00:09 ties to look forward to. Start of Friday night ahead only. Leeds take on St Helens again.
00:14 It's a repeat of last week's Super League clash, which was won by Saints. Leeds were
00:18 probably reminded that you need to play for 80 minutes against St Helens if you're going
00:23 to get over the top of them and you need to finish them when you have got them where you
00:28 want them. A great 30 minutes but they couldn't see it out. The time we've run out against
00:34 Saints ahead of the Challenge Cup, Leeds put in to get to the quarts for the first time
00:38 since 2020 when they last won the trophy. They've had a tough time in the Cup since
00:43 then. Hull KR, they've got better memories of the Challenge Cup, even if they did come
00:49 up short of Wembley. They made it all the way there, showed some real good signs, beat
00:54 Wigan, the last team still to beat Wigan, last July I think it was. They played Salford
01:00 on the way to Wembley last year in the quarters. Good match-up, Salford going well at the start
01:05 of the season, should have beaten Wigan last week but for a brain explosion for Mark Snead,
01:11 Rovers back on track with a good win at Huddersfield. So, good match-up, one that could go to the
01:17 wire but you've got to fancy Rovers with home advantage. Saturday, no sorry, we'll stay
01:23 with Friday because we've got Sheffield Eagles in a big one, going to Wigan. Brings back
01:29 great memories from an Eagles perspective of that unbelievable triumph at Wembley in
01:34 '98. Going to them to match that is obviously a Super League against a Championship, full-time
01:40 against part-time this time around. But a great opportunity for Sheffield to go there
01:45 and show what they're all about. They've done really well in the Championship of late. And
01:51 then Saturday, the big one of the weekend, it's a battle against Cass. A real banana
01:56 skin for Cass. They've lost all five games in Super League so far, under great Lingard
02:01 who left Batley for Cass, there's that storyline. But it's got giant killing written all over
02:07 it but on the flip side, Cass should be looking at this as a great chance to kick-start their
02:12 season, get off the mark and really kick on from there, going into the Easter period and
02:18 beyond. Then you've got Hull FC, they're doing it tough as well. Just like Cass, they go
02:26 to Huddersfield. Tricky clash for Hull, good opportunity for Huddersfield, you'd say, to
02:33 make progress. Probably Challenge Cup's their best chance of silverware this season. You've
02:36 got Fev going to Lee, there were Championship fours not too long ago but Lee are a long
02:42 way clear. Fev now, obviously they won the Challenge Cup trophy last year and they're
02:48 growing great guns. They're having a tough start to the season but they got back on track
02:52 with a thumping win at Hull last week. And then Halifax, Catalan. Sunday, Halifax, they're
02:59 given no chance against Catalan but they gave a save against the game last year and it'll
03:04 be a great occasion in this year again, I'm sure.
