So this is what the brilliant young people have made for us and it means that our patients can
00:06
come in a wheelchair straight through the door there and then straight down here.
00:11
So Jane came in before obviously before Christmas with some plans, ideas that we needed something
00:17
accessible so that patients could use it and then our SICK form team decided to come up with a
00:22
template, kind of mark it out which didn't go to waste because our Greenfield site as well
00:27
has also benefited from that kind of practice run and then they've put this together for themselves
00:31
as well which they all seem quite chuffed about which is nice to see that they're proud of their
00:35
own work. As you can see here we have made the planters here so that took us a couple of weeks
00:40
like maybe two months or something like that but it wasn't too stressful it was just cut a bit of
00:45
wood, squirt it together really, make it look pretty but overall it was something really nice
00:49
to do, it made a change, it's been really really well. Really good that we're actually doing
00:54
something for the people that you know are not well enough to do something if you get what I mean
01:00
but yeah it feels quite all right to do something like that so they've actually got something to do
01:04
whilst they're here so they're not just sat in a room bored and whatever but yeah as long as
01:09
they're happy we're happy. We were contacted by the college who were looking to help with
01:15
the hospital and we were happy to donate any materials that we could to support them. My
01:22
father was in the Garner ward just down across the corner so I've experienced the hospital and
01:29
the wonderful things that it does so very close to my heart. It's absolutely fantastic and I think
01:34
it's wonderful that as a community we've come together to create these kind of planters and
01:39
areas for our patients to enjoy. I think anyone would agree doing something for a natural cause
01:45
is the best thing to do and to know that this could help people's mental health, people just
01:51
in general wanting to get out do some planting and it's for everyone rather than just being for
01:56
someone who can plant on the floor or in a regular plant pot it's also making it accessible for
02:02
everyone else so it brings in all people at all times so it's very rewarding and a very good
02:09
thing to really do especially being young and doing things for people and helping people
02:14
sets me up for the future and gives me a good idea of what I want to do.
