00:00 The Philippines National Police named their new female officers this month,
00:05 National Women's Month.
00:07 This is the story of Sue Jean Kim.
00:09 Police Major Rowan Cabusi has been in the service for 17 years.
00:15 For her, being a woman is a challenge in a profession dominated by men.
00:21 My position is very challenging.
00:24 Actually, being a police officer, especially a woman, is a difficult job.
00:31 But we can handle it.
00:35 We can work together with the men.
00:38 Police Captain Rezal Guevara is also one of the 10 women
00:42 who were awarded the PNP title this morning.
00:45 She is a woman who helped and supported the children in the field
00:49 through programs like Adopt a Child with Dreams.
00:54 I think what I'm trying to do is to support my fellow women.
00:59 Despite the fact that we have a lot of struggles and challenges,
01:03 we still have the heart and commitment to serve and to help each other.
01:08 The Philippine National Police is one of the first to be named
01:12 National Women's Month in Camp Krame, Quezon City.
01:14 The PNP remembers the important role of women in different fields
01:19 as the pillars of their profession.
01:22 The agency also recognized the significant contribution of women police
01:27 in maintaining social order and equality.
01:30 The focus of this year's National Women's Month celebration
01:34 is of particular significance as we embark on the journey
01:39 towards fostering a more equal and inclusive culture.
01:43 The PNP prepared various activities to highlight the importance
01:49 of upholding the rights and safety of all women,
01:53 especially in the fight against any form of abuse or violence against women.
01:59 The theme for this year is "Consolidating Justice in the New Philippines,
02:03 the Power of Women, Proof".
02:06 The PNP gave equal opportunities,
02:11 including the giving of justice, recognition of rights and honor to each person.
02:17 The women police also reminded that justice will not be a barrier
02:22 for women who want to become police.
02:26 They just need to continue their dream and maintain hope and a strong heart.
02:31 To our fellow women in the PNP and outside our organization,
02:39 let's not lose hope.
02:41 Let's help each other.
02:43 Your fellow women are here to guide and help you.
02:49 To give even more protection,
02:52 the PNP is focusing on addressing cases of abuse against women,
02:58 including the issue of issuing arrest warrants against the persons here.
