Ryanair and Wizz Air: Budget airlines report increases in passenger numbers

Low-cost airlines Wizz Air and Ryanair both saw jumps in the number of passengers taking their flights in February.

00:09 The low-cost airlines Wizz Air and Ryanair both saw increases in the number of passengers last month.

00:16 Ryanair, which is the larger of the two companies, said it carried 11.1 million passengers last month,

00:22 an increase of 5% from the 10.6 million people who took a Ryanair flight in February 2023.

00:28 Its load factor, which is the proportion of seats that were filled with passengers, was 92% unchanged from a year earlier.

00:37 Meanwhile, Wizz Air announced a 15.8% rise in passenger numbers last month,

00:43 compared with February 2023 to 4.4 million.

00:47 Its load factor was 90%.

00:50 So an update there from two low-cost airlines, Wizz Air and Ryanair, both seeing increases in passenger numbers last month.
