Charter Walk announce Team Rise as their Charity of the Year

Charter Walk have announced their charity of the year as Team Rise, with 30 people visiting the centre to celebrate the partnership.

00:00 We're here today at the Charter Walk to raise some funds for Team Rise, our chosen charity for 2024.

00:06 We first spotted them on LinkedIn over the last few months and we just thought they had a fantastic energy about them

00:13 and it really resonated with us. You know, we do a lot of our things in the centre around autism and inclusivity for everybody

00:22 and we really wanted to raise funds for them. So we're going to be spending the year working together with them

00:26 to raise funds for all the fantastic activities that they do here already at Team Rise.

00:33 Well I'm sure you can see by my smile that it means the world to us. It's not just about fundraising,

00:38 it's about the recognition, the positive image and that people know we're doing a fabulous job with fabulous people

00:44 and we're absolutely thrilled to bits and we can't thank everybody enough. It's wonderful news Sue.

01:04 every time we raise money to show everyone what a fantastic difference we can make to these people.

01:09 Team Rise were based in Burnley for nearly 10 years and then we moved over to Brighfield to a bigger establishment with greater grounds.

01:16 We love being in Burnley, we're fabulous, but our new place gives us more scope.

01:21 So we support people with learning disabilities, autism, those who are lonely, vulnerable or sad.

01:26 And they come Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Monday evening and we're looking at putting further sessions on

01:32 and we just want to create a home where people are happy, make friends, gain confidence and laugh and have fun.

01:38 So it's not really that hard, it's just about having a life, having fun and being part of our wider community and we love it.
