00:00 What should your wee look like?
00:01 So, you know, if we're looking at all of these bottles here,
00:04 what is, like, the perfect wee?
00:07 OK, so let's have a look at these three first.
00:09 So these might be familiar to all of us.
00:11 And our wee will change depending on how hydrated we are.
00:14 60% of our bodies are water.
00:16 And at 1% to 2% dehydrated, it can affect our mood,
00:19 our energy levels.
00:21 And actually, there's a study done by Loughborough University
00:23 that said dehydrated driving can be as dangerous as drunk driving.
00:27 No.
00:27 Drunk driving.
00:28 Wow.
00:28 Because it affects the brain.
00:29 A hydrated brain is a happy brain.
00:32 So this one here in the middle, we often say it's straw-coloured.
00:35 But when did you last look at straw?
00:37 I would say champagne-coloured urine.
00:39 Without the bubbles.
00:40 Tells us about your lifestyle.
00:41 Tells us that you've got very healthy.
00:42 If it's completely clear, you might actually
00:44 be a little bit over-hydrated.
00:46 And this colour would be probably normal in the morning
00:48 before you're hydrated.
00:50 But later in the day, it tells you you need to drink more.
00:52 So that tells you about hydration status.
00:54 If you're very dehydrated, you can actually
00:56 get on to the oranges and browns.
00:59 I experienced that when I was a junior doctor doing 12-hour shifts
01:01 and forgot to drink anything.
01:02 Right.
01:03 But that tells you you're severely hydrated
01:05 or could indicate that there's a medical problem.
