Sophie and Will Hargreaves talk about life on an alpaca farm in France after moving there from Kent
Transcript
00:00 Yeah, I mean day-to-day life, you know, we get to choose what we want to do to a certain extent.
00:05 You know, we're working for ourselves so we get to set out, you know, our schedule, our timetable.
00:11 We've got a lot more space here, you know. We were quite lucky where we lived because
00:16 obviously we're in Cuxton because we could go for nice walks on the downs and things like that.
00:20 Yeah, the public footpaths and public walking sort of routes were incredible in Kent.
00:29 It's better than here, to be honest, but we don't necessarily need to travel to do those things here
00:36 because we've got the farm and we've got the space at home.
00:39 Yeah, you know, in the UK we had a nice, a really nice four-bedroom house but with a
00:43 tiny postage stamp garden overlooked by other very nice houses as well.
00:48 But here, you know, we've just got so much space, you know, our closest,
00:53 you know, closest real neighbours, you know, to the chateau over the road.
00:57 It wasn't necessarily an easy decision, although it was a quick decision because of a few factors
01:04 because we did love Kent and we still love visiting Kent and, you know, have favourite places and home
01:10 comforts there. But it is, I think, population-wise, it's people visit here and they go,
01:22 "Where are all the people?" And when we visit back in Kent, we're wondering where all the people came
01:28 from, you know. It's a bit overwhelming, can't it? Especially driving, I think, the roads are very different.
