00:02 - Hello, I'm Adam Hanson.
00:04 - And I'm Oti Mabuse.
00:06 And we're a part of
00:07 - The Tea Team.
00:08 - Now we're here to raise awareness
00:09 on how amazing the tea levels are.
00:12 - The Tea Team have been traveling up and down the country,
00:14 but we're here at Bridgewater and Taunton College.
00:17 So let's go meet up with some of the students.
00:19 - Let's do this.
00:20 - So when I was studying civil engineering in South Africa,
00:23 I also found that I learned a lot
00:26 other transferable skills.
00:28 - Tell me, why did you decide to take up the tea levels?
00:31 - It's not just classroom based learning, like an A level.
00:33 You get to do like so many things,
00:35 like working with CNC machines,
00:37 computer aided design,
00:39 and even get to work on your own projects, designing things.
00:43 I can get that qualification
00:44 that's equivalent to three A levels,
00:46 but I still get the hands-on experience
00:48 that's really fundamental for an engineer.
00:50 - Tell me about the tea level qualification.
00:52 What are the advantages to that?
00:54 - With the agriculture and the tea level course,
00:56 you've got such a broad pathway.
00:57 You could go to being a farm manager,
00:59 just working with the cows,
01:01 or doing the account side of farming
01:03 and being an agronomist or a feed rep or something.
01:07 - Why do you think parents should be really excited
01:10 about the tea level?
01:11 - So in our experience,
01:13 the majority of our students have ended up
01:15 in full-time employment at the end of their tea levels
01:17 with the companies where they did their industry placement.
01:20 So this is a great outcome for the students.
01:23 - How did you get on, Aiti?
01:23 - I thought the students were absolutely amazing
01:26 and it was great to see them in action.
01:28 - I mean, really, that technical experience
01:30 and those transferable skills are so important, aren't they?
01:33 - Yes.
01:34 - And as a parent, I can really see how tea levels
01:36 are a great option for young people.
01:38 - I couldn't agree more.
