00:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:03 Hey, everybody.
00:07 I'm Ted Price, president and founder of Insomniac Games.
00:10 First, thank you to the millions of fans
00:12 who have already been swinging through the streets of Marvel's
00:15 New York and Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
00:17 For us at Insomniac, we've been humbled
00:18 by the overwhelmingly positive response to the game.
00:21 And we have loved hearing about players' experiences
00:23 as they've explored the city, playing
00:25 as Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and some other characters
00:27 I won't mention, because spoilers.
00:29 [EXPLOSION]
00:30 Marvel's Spider-Man 2 represents our passion
00:32 for telling authentic stories to which our fans can relate.
00:35 Whether we're portraying the challenges
00:37 Miles faces as he struggles to apply to college
00:40 while keeping the city safe, or watching
00:42 Harry Osborn battle a debilitating disease
00:44 while making impossible choices, or cheering on Rio Morales
00:48 as she continues to stay strong for her son
00:50 after a devastating loss, our goal
00:52 is to provide representation through a diverse, believable
00:55 cast of characters who collaborate
00:56 to overcome monumental odds.
00:59 Now, to accomplish this, to present these characters
01:01 in an authentic fashion, it's important for us
01:03 to have a development team that's representative as well,
01:05 one that ultimately reflects the diversity of our audience.
01:09 Now, frankly, we and the industry
01:10 have a long way to go to achieve this goal,
01:12 but we're making progress.
01:14 One of the ways we can help increase diversity
01:16 in our industry is by partnering with organizations
01:18 who help underrepresented and low-income youth with an on-ramp
01:21 to video game development.
01:23 Therefore, we and Sony Interactive Entertainment,
01:25 with support from Marvel and Disney,
01:27 have partnered with GameHeads, a nonprofit organization
01:31 based in Oakland, California.
01:32 GameHeads prepares and trains low-income and underrepresented
01:36 youth for careers in the tech and the video game industry.
01:39 Students at GameHeads learn how to code, animate, design,
01:42 manage projects, and work effectively in teams.
01:45 GameHeads gives these deserving students
01:47 the skills to open doors that, for them,
01:49 have often been closed.
01:51 Now, how are we partnered?
01:52 Well, on behalf of Insomniac and Sony Interactive Entertainment,
01:55 I am excited to announce a suit pack
01:58 with two new Spider-Man suits for Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
02:02 The two suits in the pack have been designed
02:03 by GameHeads artists, and the pack
02:05 will be available for purchase for $4.99.
02:08 100% of the purchase price from the sales of the suit pack
02:11 in the United States is going to be donated to GameHeads
02:14 during the first calendar quarter of 2024,
02:17 up to $1 million, so that they can continue their mission.
02:21 Now, as you, our fans, know, we don't sell suits in our games.
02:25 But in this case, we have a special opportunity
02:27 to make a meaningful difference by directly helping
02:30 underrepresented and disadvantaged youth.
02:33 Please consider purchasing these suits
02:35 to benefit an incredible charity and take part
02:38 in making a lasting and positive impact on people's lives.
02:41 On behalf of all of us at Insomniac Games,
02:44 PlayStation Studios, and Sony Interactive Entertainment,
02:46 thank you for your support.
02:48 And thank you for considering picking up
02:50 some really cool suits to benefit an important cause.
