Find a solution to the rice issue, Dr Wee tells govt

Datuk Seri Dr. Wee Ka Siong urged the government to resolve the confusion surrounding the Malaysia Madani white rice issue. 02:55 and I think one of the assumptions that we need to make is that we started by adding 32%

03:04 because people immediately went to look for local rice. This is one of the reasons why people

03:10 rushed to look for local rice. If it is done gradually, it may seem to be absorbed

03:18 in a rather long time. But when it is done in a sudden, that is what causes

03:25 suddenly the need for local rice to increase. So before that, they couldn't even buy it.

03:32 They had to buy imported rice. So I think the government, the responsible party,

03:39 has to find a way and we have to make sure that the supplies are sufficient

03:44 and without burdening the people. That is one of the challenges for the government.
