Muleskinner - Muleskinner (A potpourri of bluegrass jam) 1973 (1978)

A sort of bluegrass-folk all-star supergroup who came together because Richard Greene was asked by Bill Monroe to put together a band for a live television broadcast, because of technical troubles at Monroe's bus he didn't make the show, but the band filled the timeslot without Bill. The album was also one of the last session of Clarence White after disbanding from Byrds, and was recorded just a few months before Clarence's fatal accident in June 1973. The sound is bluegrass at his best exploring the borders of bluegrass as well as traditional folk, and unusual for bluegrass music there are the addition of drums and percussion. The album was released in 1973 as "Muleskinner" and rereleased in 1978 as "A potpourri of bluegrass jam".
