00:02 We've tested every version of the Lucid Air to date,

00:14 but this is the one we've been waiting for.

00:16 The Lucid Sapphire, a quarter million dollar version

00:20 of Lucid's first vehicle, the Air.

00:22 The headline is the addition of a third motor,

00:25 which is placed on the rear axle

00:26 and allows for more power to be put down during a launch.

00:30 To that end, in our motor trend testing,

00:33 the Sapphire became the quickest accelerating

00:36 production vehicle we've ever tested,

00:38 registering a zero to 60 miles per hour time

00:41 of just 2.2 seconds,

00:43 and finishing the quarter mile in 9.3 seconds

00:47 at 156 miles per hour.

00:50 Equally impressive, despite its 5,335 pound curb weight,

00:56 it managed a 60 to zero brake test in just 109 feet.

01:01 In the figure eight test, it registered a time

01:03 of 22.6 seconds at an average of 0.94 G.

01:08 For context, that is just a couple of tenths of a second

01:11 off the CA Corvette Z06.

01:14 Very impressive for a luxury sedan.
