00:18 The Batikang Coach, Oliver Almadro, is returning to UAP Volleyball.

00:25 But with the start of Season 86, Coach O has a new role in the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.

00:31 Almadro has been the head coach for more than a week since UAP officially announced his appointment.

00:39 At a PTV Sports interview with Almadro at the UAAT press conference on Monday,

00:44 he said that this is the start of a new chapter in his coaching career.

00:48 They say if you continue staying in your comfort zone, you will never grow.

00:53 So this is again out of our comfort zone.

00:56 Players also, new system out of comfort zone.

00:59 But in time, in time, with the help of the UP community and OSD of Coach Bo Perazola,

01:07 Chancellor and President Gideon, I guess, they say slowly but surely, they trust the process.

01:12 So that's the good thing.

01:14 They are not asking for an instant result.

01:17 So I told them that the results will always be there.

01:20 The performance is important.

01:22 Almadro admitted that he is a big challenger in the transfer of the new volleyball program for UP.

01:28 But Coach O insisted that he is ready to bring the winning culture to the Fighting Maroons.

01:33 When they took me, "Why are you getting me? I just came from a losing season."

01:37 And they said, "It's not about the wins. It's not about the losses that you got.

01:42 What we believe in you is what you can give to UP."

01:45 So I said, "I haven't been given anything yet. They trust me now."

01:48 So hopefully, that trust may come back in terms of performance and in terms of, you know,

01:54 bringing up the character of the players in UP.

01:57 I said, "Let's just bring back the fight UP mantra, fight UP culture."

02:08 Coach O and the Fighting Maroons will play first in the UAAP Season 86 this coming Sunday,

02:14 where they will face Far Eastern University Lady Tamarauks.
