00:00 This was the scene shortly after the Mexican Armed Forces raided what it says is the largest
00:04 meth lab in recent memory. They're calling it a mega laboratory, with the Mexican Navy
00:10 saying the lab contained more than 91,000 pounds of meth. Authorities say they also found thousands
00:16 of pounds of precursor chemicals used in meth production as well. The raided lab was in Sonora,
00:21 a state in Mexico's north. This was the second secret meth lab to be discovered in the state,
00:26 but this one was much, much larger. According to the Navy, the lab contained 72 laboratory reactors,
00:32 which Reuters reports is five times as many as were found in the last meth factory. In fact,
00:37 this was the largest meth lab raided in President Andres Manuel López Obrador's administration.
00:43 The U.S. has long been putting pressure on Mexican officials to deal with their illicit
00:47 drug manufacture and trafficking problems, though Mexico has more recently snapped back at the U.S.,
00:52 pointing to illicit firearms manufactured in the United States that have been trafficked
00:56 into their territory, ultimately arming the very cartels the U.S. once stopped.
