Twenty years after the civilisation has been destroyed by the infection, Joel works as a smuggler with his partner Tess who had her weapon cache stolen from her by a black market dealer named Robert. Joel and Tess hunt down Robert in the policed quarantine zone to recover the stolen weapons.
