00:00 This exhibition actually was first put together in connection of the Venice Biennale Arte 2022.
00:08 So we spent a bit of time identifying artists that we wanted to show in the exhibit.
00:16 And there I was really looking for a cross-section of the Palestinian artists
00:24 population. So I wanted a group of artists that's diversified demographically, geographically,
00:33 and also with respect to experience. As Palestinians we have different goals and objectives
00:40 than your typical curated exhibit that you would see. So as a result we ended up with a very
00:52 interesting group of artists and we're very happy with them.
00:55 It's very important our identity is being coming under attack. We've been told we don't exist.
01:10 We've been told people don't want to see you. We've been cancelled all over the place.
01:19 Does it feel extra poignant for you now to be putting, curating this exhibition here in London?
01:24 It is a bit challenging in terms of, you know, we had this exhibit before and it was all
01:33 self-contained. We maintained all the artwork, every piece that was exhibited before.
01:39 But now the environment has changed drastically and there's before Gaza and after Gaza and
01:47 we could not show the same exhibit without any recognition of Gaza and what's happening in Gaza.
