00:00 The Houthis believe they are the region's Robin Hood. But as I discussed with the Yemeni
00:06 Defence Minister just yesterday when I saw him in Saudi, the only people they are robbing
00:12 are innocent Yemenis whose food and aid arrives via the Red Sea. And that is why at the weekend
00:21 the Prime Minister and I again authorised the use of force in strict accordance with
00:26 international law and in self-defence. On Saturday, Royal Air Force Typhoons, supported
00:33 by two Voyager tankers, joined the US forces to conduct further precision strikes against
00:39 Houthi locations in Yemen. The typhoons employed Paveway 4 precision-guided munitions against
00:48 three military facilities, hitting 11 separate targets, which were identified after very
00:56 careful analysis at those three locations and they were approved by me. We would much
01:02 rather the Houthis simply stopped attacking international shipping, stopped damaging global
01:08 trade and stopped harming the prospects of their own people. At the same time, appeasing
01:14 the Houthis today will not lead to a more stable Red Sea, indeed a more stable region.
01:21 We are not seeking confrontation and we urge the Houthis and all those who enable them
01:26 to stop these illegal and unacceptable attacks. But if necessary, the UK will not hesitate
01:34 to respond again in self-defence.
