00:02 - Yeah, today is departure day.

00:04 We're leaving Airlie Beach.

00:05 After a fantastic stopover, it's time to head to Vietnam.

00:08 We first head to Macay for immigration clearance,

00:11 and then we head out of the reef

00:12 and do a start there in the Mons start.

00:15 - We've just had the cyclone.

00:16 Luckily it didn't hit us directly,

00:19 but we took the right precautions

00:20 and the boat's all in reasonable order.

00:23 It's been a hectic start,

00:24 getting everything on all of a sudden.

00:26 (dramatic music)

00:29 - I feel excited, but a bit nervous of the unknown,

00:33 but I feel excited because I believe I have a great team

00:37 and we'll be there for each other.

00:39 And yeah, I'm looking forward to it.

00:43 - So we're about to get ready for our first Le Mans start

00:50 of this round the world race.

00:52 A Le Mans start we use

00:53 when we're getting started further offshore,

00:55 when there's no actual start line or race committee.

00:58 At the four minutes,

01:00 everyone must be behind the forward pedestal.

01:03 And then at the one minute, engines off,

01:05 and then you sail on the main sails and then on zero.

01:09 It's a mad scramble to who can get their sails up

01:11 the quickest and who can get to Halong Bay the quickest.

01:15 - Just here in the Le Mans start, starting our countdown,

01:18 but we're all very excited

01:19 'cause this is a very important race for us

01:21 'cause we're going back to Halong Bay.

01:22 - Five, four.

01:24 - Three, two, one, go.

01:29 - Start sailing, Jade, start sailing.
