00:04 but don't take them as gospel.
00:06 Your credit file or report, it's also called, matters.
00:10 Every year, check all three.
00:12 Before a big application, check them.
00:15 After a rejection, check them.
00:17 Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion
00:19 are the credit reference agencies.
00:21 They are all available online for free.
00:22 There's a statutory one.
00:24 Or if I have certain websites,
00:25 you can get them instantly for free.
00:26 If you know what you're doing, I'll let you look that up.
00:29 Then go through them line by line, looking for errors.
00:33 This is important.
00:34 Even an old address being wrong,
00:36 can kibosh a mortgage application
00:38 on an old mobile phone that's still technically live.
00:41 If it's on there, if there's a default,
00:42 anything on there, line by line, go through the errors.
