00:02 Hey, this is Sue Bird, and you're watching Life Minute TV.
00:04 [upbeat music]
00:07 All in, it ended up being about a two year process.
00:12 You know, initially the thought was,
00:13 oh, let's cover what could be my final season.
00:16 Obviously that question of retirement,
00:17 and by the end of that first year,
00:19 I answered that question with, okay, I'm not ready yet.
00:21 So I came back for another season,
00:23 and that's why it ended up being that long.
00:25 Otherwise, it's a lot of verite,
00:26 a lot of behind closed doors,
00:27 trying to capture those quiet moments
00:29 that people don't get to see.
00:31 And then of course, it goes to the story of my career.
00:34 So we got a lot of nos to begin with,
00:36 and that surprised me, because when I read about Sue,
00:40 and I learned about her story,
00:42 and just how much she's achieved,
00:44 I thought this woman should be a household name.
00:46 Having to sort of prove ourselves is a theme
00:50 that's very familiar to Sue, sadly,
00:53 and to the women of the WNBA.
00:55 And in the end, I just embraced that and used that
00:57 as part of our story.
01:00 It's about Sue Bird, and it's a story about perseverance
01:02 and finding your own voice.
01:04 You watch both Sue grow into the woman that she's become,
01:07 and find her voice, and find her power,
01:09 and use her platform for good.
01:10 It runs parallel to the WNBA story
01:12 of being this baby league that was kind of overlooked,
01:15 and they found how to make the players
01:18 the most important part of the story of women's basketball.
01:21 And so, Sue gave us the opportunity
01:23 to kind of peek behind the curtain
01:24 on her life and her career.
01:26 (upbeat music)
01:28 (loud crash)
