00:00 How are you?
00:00 I'm very well, mate. I'm buzzing.
00:01 Band of Brothers was my favourite show of all time.
00:03 Oh, nice.
00:04 And I love the Pacific.
00:05 So what you're saying, Johnny, is no pressure?
00:07 There's no pressure at all.
00:09 Have you seen any episodes?
00:10 I've seen just under two episodes because I got it last night.
00:13 Love it.
00:13 Alright, great. It's a good start.
00:15 But I think getting this kind of team together,
00:18 Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks and John and Gary and the guys who put this together in the past,
00:24 you kind of know you're in safe hands, don't you?
00:27 Yeah, I mean, there's never been a moment in my life where I haven't known who Tom Hanks is or Steven Spielberg.
00:32 It's an honour. It's a real honour to get to play with them and work with them.
00:36 And it's also an honour to represent these men.
00:38 What these guys did was extraordinary and they did it for us.
00:41 I didn't know about this story and I'm someone that's interested in World War II.
00:45 So it's a privilege and I'm very grateful that I had the opportunity to do it.
00:50 Incredibly busy year for you, the boys on the boat.
00:52 This is coming hot on the heels of that.
00:55 Working with a gentleman like this, I mean, let's talk about your chemistry for a minute
01:01 because a lot of this story hangs on this intense, complicated, very loving relationship that you guys have.
01:07 How did you guys get to that place creatively?
01:10 Because I know Austin has gone quite deep, as he did on Elvis in the past.
01:14 Were you the same or were you just clicking into gear as soon as cameras rolled?
01:18 Actually, we clicked into gear immediately.
01:22 He's a very easy person to fall in love with and I fell in love with him straight away.
01:26 We also share a passion and we really care.
01:30 We really care about being good and honouring these guys.
01:36 Their legacy is so important. I know I keep saying it but that's the truth.
01:41 Honouring them in that way was so important.
01:45 And also, he's got a great sense of humour.
01:48 In a series like this, it also bases on incredible realism.
01:51 I know you guys would have worked long hours, difficult sets, difficult filming experiences
01:56 but if you had to choose between a boat and a plane right now, which one's easier to get you back into?
02:02 Man, that boat was hard, man.
02:05 It looked it, man. It looked it.
02:07 Don't give me PTSD. That boat was hard.
