Krispy Kreme grand opening

A woman, from Fort William, waited over nine hours to win a year supply of free doughnuts at the Krispy Kreme grand opening in Inverness.

00:00 I'm Mike, I'm the new store manager for the new shiny Krispy Kreme Inverness store.

00:27 So a lady called Kelly won a first in the queue price day which is probably two a year's supply of donuts.

00:34 So one dozen box every month for the rest of 2024.

00:39 I'm Kelly Anderson from Port William.

00:42 I just waited a day away and knew this was opening so I thought, bit of shopping, donuts.

00:48 And when did you get here?

00:50 Last night.

00:52 And have you been waiting here all night?

00:54 Half twelve.

00:56 Couldn't sleep so decided just to join the queue.

00:59 I thought it would be massive.

01:01 How have you been keeping yourself busy?

01:03 Just playing on my phone, walking up and down, peeping boredom.

01:07 And it's freezing cold temperatures, are you not ice cold?

01:11 Getting cold again, yeah.

01:13 Are you kind of donut obsessed would you say?

01:16 Not really but I've got lots of friends to take some back to as well.

01:21 When you saw that the queue wasn't massive did you not think to go back and come back in the morning?

01:26 It would be bothered, I thought maybe I'll just wait.

01:29 It's the final few minutes before it opens, how excited are you?

01:33 Quite excited.

01:35 How long have you been waiting here now?

01:37 It'll be nine and a half hours.

01:39 Do you think it'll be worth it?

01:41 Yeah. I had planned to join about three o'clock but I couldn't settle so I just came out earlier.

01:50 And did you see many people come along throughout the night to come and join the queue when they saw you?

01:54 Just one or two people came and went.

01:57 And do you think that they left because they saw you?

02:00 Well they said there's no point queuing, somebody's not ready first.

02:18 Delighted, absolutely delighted. The weather hasn't been the greatest friend to us but still seeing so many people come and go is brilliant.

02:25 It's great for High Street, brilliant, some jobs created for the team.

02:29 Absolutely buzzing for it really.

02:31 I think nerves, I think nerves what I've seen so far, all new to them but we'll get there.

02:37 It's a cracking team we've put together, we really work well together so we're looking forward to a long, a long future together.
