Are you partnered with an RMA Network Independent Livestock and Property Agent?

00:20
Yeah, we're at the WBLX CRG today.
00:24
We had our annual female sale, joint female sale of a few cows and calves.
00:30
In the cow and calf line, not a lot there to quote on.
00:33
There wasn't any really sort of outstanding lines or anything like that,
00:36
but they got to sort of $2,100.
00:39
The, a lot of really, really good joint heifers, you know, probably all breeds,
00:44
but Angus, as you know, most notably represented.
00:48
The best of the Angus joint heifers made to $2,900.
00:51
But generally, Angus heifers were sort of, generally sold in that $1,800 to sort of $2,200, $2,300 range.
00:59
And then the Angus cows, there was some, a few dispersals here.
01:05
The best of those made to $2,450, plenty of young cows,
01:09
but again, generally around that sort of $1,800 to $2,000 mark for joint Angus cows.
01:14
With the Herefords, the best of the joint Hereford heifers were the lily ones.
01:19
They made to $1,575.
01:23
And the best of the cows, good young Hereford cows, made to $1,650.
01:28
So all in all, you know, once the cattle got sort of a bit lighter,
01:33
in weight more than anything, particularly with heifers and that,
01:37
they sort of come down back to that sort of below 500 kilos,
01:41
down to that sort of $1,400, $1,500 mark.
01:44
But yeah, the sale was sort of, the buyers were pretty picky and choosy.
01:49
They sort of, you know, auctions plus was reasonably active,
01:54
but you know, a lot of the cattle sort of stayed local.
01:57
A few went to South Australia, you know, Colac areas and things like that.
02:01
But yeah, no, just overall, I'd say that the best of the cattle,
02:06
people would be, you know, really happy with, but you know,
02:09
just the middle runs of cattle, I think,
02:11
just sort of probably didn't quite make as much as we thought, you know.
02:16
But I think all in all, you know, vendors sort of are reasonably pleased,
02:19
that's for sure.
