Angourie Rice dishes to THR what her experience was like playing Cady in the 'Mean Girls' musical adaptation. Plus, she shares how Reneé Rapp helped her during singing rehearsals.

00:04 because this is an iconic film.

00:06 I know, I couldn't believe it when I got that email,

00:08 but I'm so fortunate that it led me to this place right here.

00:13 I'm so excited for everyone to see the movie. I hope they love it.

00:16 What was the musical prep like and also all those dance rehearsals?

00:21 There were a few dance rehearsals. I did a lot of singing training.

00:24 It was also really helpful in the room.

00:27 While we were recording, Renee came in and helped me, which was amazing and so kind of her to do.

00:32 There was a lot of prep work that went into it.

00:34 Did you get to talk to any of the original Mean Girls girls, like Lindsay or any of them?

00:39 I know a lot of them reunited recently for a commercial.

00:42 They did, yes, I saw that.

00:44 I was so excited because Tina is a part of this movie. It's her project.

00:49 When I signed on, I was just asking her questions about what it was like in 2004,

00:54 what memories she had, so that was really nice to hear stories from her.

01:01 Obviously, the original film is so iconic.

01:03 Do you have a favorite burn book burn from the original film?

01:11 Some of them are a bit rude. I don't know if I can say them.

01:14 Maybe we can bleep it up.

01:17 My favorite one, which is in our movie, which is actually sung, is "This Girl is a Fugly Cow."

01:24 I think that's hilarious.

01:26 And the way that Renee sings it is just gorgeous.

01:30 I love it. I love how everyone's just been ready for this movie musical.

01:34 Is there another iconic 2000s comedy or movie that you would love to see turn into a musical next?

01:40 I mean, I love "10 Things I Hate About You."

01:43 I think that would be stunning, right?

01:46 Yeah.

01:47 So many to choose from, too.

01:49 Yeah, I would be in it. Cast me in another one, please. I want to do more.
