00:18 According to insider reports from the Mirror publication, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton,

00:24 is choosing to reduce her royal engagements and they're saying that she's taking inspiration

00:29 from Meghan Markle to concentrate on her family.

00:33 The source revealed that Kate has deliberately cleared her schedule for the upcoming weeks

00:40 and who knows how much longer she's going to be clearing her schedule, but this is to

00:44 be with her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

00:49 This decision comes as their eldest son, Prince George, along with Princess Charlotte and

00:52 Prince Louis, enjoys a well-deserved October half-term break from school.

00:56 Specifically, she is prioritizing her eldest son, Prince George, who's facing exams and

01:01 could use her support during this stressful time at school.

01:10 This decision is because of Kate's commitment to her family's well-being and it really

01:15 amplifies her hands-on approach to parenting.

01:18 And by the way, her parenting style is something that she's gotten a lot of praise for in

01:23 the past.

01:24 And it's definitely something really difficult to manage, especially being a senior royal

01:29 princess.

01:30 Your hands are everywhere.

01:32 Kate Middleton has been appearing at public events, including the Royal Festival of Dance

01:38 and the Royal Festival of Dance, and she's been a big part of the Royal Festival of Dance

02:15 suggesting that she was losing interest in her royal duties.

02:19 Some reports have highlighted Kate's decrease in royal engagements.

02:25 She made 40 solo appearances and 40 joint ones with Prince William in 2023.

02:31 But this is a significant drop from the 120 engagements that she had in 2019.

02:38 And another thing to note is that although she usually keeps her personal life very private,

02:43 she did hint at her mental health concerns in May of 2023 when she stressed the importance

02:50 of discussing emotions openly.

02:53 And reports are saying that this might have influenced her choice to take a step down

02:57 from her royal duties.

02:59 And like I said, people are comparing her to Meghan Markle.

03:02 Meghan Markle, of course, is Kate Middleton's sister-in-law, and she has openly discussed

03:08 her mental health struggles as well.

03:10 Like, in 2021, Meghan and Prince Harry moved to California and they cited intense media

03:17 pressure as well as tensions within the royal family as the reasons for stepping down and

03:23 moving.

03:29 Meghan has also revealed that she felt like she didn't want to be alive anymore during

03:33 her time in the UK, leading the couple to step back from their royal duties and move

03:37 to the US.

03:45 And now, they're currently engaged in Hollywood projects, including media deals with Netflix

03:51 to create new content.

03:53 And Meghan and Harry's move from the UK seems permanent, but Kate's decision to step back

03:59 appears to be temporary.

04:01 At least that's what it looks like.

04:03 And her main aim is to actually just focus on her children for now.

04:07 And that's the hope.

04:08 Like, could you imagine if Kate was like, "Okay, I'm stepping down permanently from

04:11 all of my royal duties."

04:13 That would be chaos in the royal family.

04:16 So I don't think that'll be the case at all.

04:18 I think she really loves the royal life and she's very committed to it.

04:22 And I think most people would be sympathetic to her current condition.

04:25 Like, she's been going really hard, like, over the past years, representing the royal

04:30 family, trying to be the glue to help keep the royal family together, help keep the image

04:35 in the public eye in a positive light, all of that, as well as trying to manage her household

04:41 and be a good mom.

04:42 Sometimes you just gotta take a break.

04:44 Yeah, I really think most people are sympathetic to that.
