00:00 Italian philosopher and activist Don Inegri, born in Padua in 1933, has died at the age
00:05 of 90 in Paris.
00:07 Neri was a state theory professor at the University of Padua.
00:10 He was involved in revolutionary struggles since the 1960s, as a thinker and as an activist.
00:16 He joined the Poder Obrero, or Workers' Autonomy Party, which questioned the role of workers
00:20 in the large mechanics factory.
00:22 In 1979, he was arrested and despite several motor charges against him being dismissed
00:27 for lack of evidence, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison for he was found morally
00:32 responsible of the subversive acts against the state in those years.
00:36 In 1983, he was elected deputy for Marco Panella's radical party, which enabled him to leave
00:42 prison.
00:43 He then fled to France, where he lived in exile until 1997.
