Prince Harry wins phone hacking court case

Prince Harry has won £140,600 in damages against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) after a High Court judge ruled he had been the victim of unlawful information gathering. Mr Justice Fancourt ruled there had been “extensive” phone hacking at MGN titles between 2006 and 2011, including during the Leveson Inquiry. Reading a statement on his behalf after the verdict, the Prince's barrister David Sherborne said: "Today's ruling is vindicating and affirming. I have been told that slaying dragons will get you burned, but in light of today's victory and the importance of doing what is needed for a free and honest press, it is a worthwhile price to pay."
