Well, it is still very, very wet here in Mossman to the north of Cairns.
00:06
As you can see behind me here, some roads do remain cut off.
00:09
Now, the city is connected to Cairns to the south, but some of these roads to the north
00:13
are still swallowed by floodwaters, including this one today.
00:17
Some of them went under this morning in the last couple of hours due to high tide, meaning
00:20
some residents who ventured back into town can't get back to their homes.
00:25
Now, in Mossman itself, the town, the power has come back on, there's restaurants and pubs starting to reopen.
00:31
But in other parts of Mossman, power and reception remains cut off.
00:35
Now, further south in Cairns and in Port Douglas, life is getting back to normal.
00:40
Boats are returning to the marina, businesses are reopening, and people are starting to
00:44
put everything back together in the wake of ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper.
