00:06 Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, will retire.

00:08 He announced that on the occasion of his birthday this Saturday.

00:13 Here is my first news.

00:15 The GMA Network, which is now known as the leading,

00:21 largest, most trusted,

00:24 and most awarded multimedia network in the Philippines,

00:27 was admitted under the leadership of GMA Chairman

00:31 and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon.

00:33 On the occasion of his 84th birthday,

00:36 his family, friends, and colleagues were together.

00:41 The high-ranking government officials and GMA stars also attended.

00:45 Here, Gozon announced that after more than two decades,

00:49 he will retire as the Chief Executive Officer of the GMA Network.

00:53 The GMA Board of Directors

00:57 has approved my retirement

01:00 as Chief Executive Officer,

01:03 effective December 31, 2023.

01:09 But I will still continue

01:12 as Chairman Advisor

01:14 and Chairman of the Programming Committee.

01:18 As the CEO of Kapuso Network,

01:21 the current GMA President and Chief Operating Officer

01:25 is Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr.,

01:27 the eldest son of one of the founders of GMA,

01:30 Gilberto M. Duavit, Sr.

01:32 The Board also approved

01:35 my recommendation

01:37 to elect Mr. Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr.

01:43 as the new Chief Executive Officer

01:48 to replace me,

01:50 effective January 1, 2024.

01:55 President-CEO,

01:58 and he will continue

02:00 to act as Vice Chairman

02:03 of the Program Committee.

02:05 Duavit is also the Chairman of the Executive Committee.

02:09 He is also the Chairman of the Board of GMA Network Films

02:12 and is also the official of some subsidiaries of GMA Network.

02:15 He is also the President and Trustee of GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc.

02:20 The Executive Committee Chairmen will be

02:22 Joel Marcelo G. Jimenez,

02:24 the son of one of the founders of GMA,

02:26 Leonardo R. Jimenez.

02:28 At the recommendation of Mr. Jimmy Duavit,

02:33 to which I concur,

02:36 the Executive Committee

02:38 has elected Mr. Joel

02:41 Marcelo Jimenez

02:46 as the Chairman of the Executive Committee.

02:50 Vice Mr. Duavit,

02:54 who resides as Chairman of the EXCOMM,

02:59 effective December 31, 2023.

03:04 Jimenez is the President and CEO of Menarco Holdings

03:07 and CEO of Alta Productions Group, Inc.

03:10 He is the Director of RGMA Network, Inc.,

03:13 Executive Committee Chairman

03:15 and Director of GMA New Media, Inc.,

03:18 and other subsidiaries of GMA Network.

03:20 I am very proud

03:23 and gratified that over the years,

03:27 GMA Network has provided the public

03:33 with superior quality

03:37 and innovative entertainment and public affairs programs

03:44 that does not require

03:46 any protection

03:49 or lies.

03:51 It is a true service.

03:54 In Gozon's speech, he once again thanked

03:57 the Lord for the blessings he received

04:00 that he even prayed for.

04:02 His friend Tessy Gozon is one of them.

04:05 I particularly thank the Lord

04:14 given to me by God,

04:17 who, after going steady with me

04:21 for 11 years

04:27 for 54 years and 6 months,

04:30 I can truly say,

04:33 is the love of my life.

04:36 At the birthday toast that his daughter,

04:46 for being a strict chairman
