00:00 At the moment, all eyes seem to be on Gaza, as Israel continues its devastating and deadly
00:05 campaign in the Middle East.
00:07 However, Russia's invasion of Ukraine continues and is quickly approaching its third year.
00:12 But according to Russia, that doesn't mean an end is in sight.
00:15 During a recent press conference, Kremlin mouthpiece Dmitry Peskov was asked about the
00:19 Biden administration's suggested peace talks, ones that implied they should resume on Kiev's
00:24 terms.
00:25 Peskov was asked how realistic that would be.
00:28 His response?
00:30 Absolutely unrealistic.
00:31 He then went on to say that the US was only looking out for itself, telling reporters,
00:35 quote, "Ukraine must understand that they are not, in fact, the main concern for the
00:39 United States.
00:40 The primary concern for the United States has always been the Americans themselves,
00:45 even if it comes at the cost of many Ukrainian lives."
00:48 He went on to suggest that the US is making billions on oil sales to Europe and have added
00:53 a boon to the American economy via munitions manufacturing.
00:56 However, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a DC-based think
01:01 tank which has been tracking funding for Ukraine, the US has spent some $113 billion helping
01:07 the Eastern European nation defend itself.
01:09 Peskov went on to say that the US is throwing the lives of Ukrainians into the furnace.
01:14 Meanwhile, Russia's onslaught of border regions continues.
01:18 (upbeat music)
