Hartlepool Vue Cinema undergoes major renovation

Marking its 25th anniversary, the town’s only cinema has benefited from major renovations to its foyer area, cinema screens and entrance hall.

00:00 So I'm speaking to the General Manager of View Cinema today in Hartlepool, Darren Williams.

00:05 Darren, do you want to tell me a bit about what improvements have been made to the cinema these past few months?

00:10 Yeah, definitely. The cinema is 25 years old and has served the people of Hartlepool very well.

00:16 But after 25 years with technology and progressions in cinema, as you can imagine, we were ready for a bit of a facelift.

00:27 The cinema has undergone a full refurbishment.

00:32 From walking through the front doors, you'll see a modernised welcoming greeting area through into our new foyer

00:39 with the refurbished concession stand offering where the customers can basically help themselves to their own drinks

00:48 with freestyle machines by Coke, offering over 100 flavours, pick and mix, tango ice blast,

00:55 as well as a fully redesigned concession stand itself.

00:59 All seven screens have been fully refurbished with Italian leather recliner seats.

01:05 We now have just under 600 seats within the site.

01:09 And I think you'll agree the seats are pretty impressive.

01:14 And the feedback I've had since we've undergone the refurbishment is that the seats are amazing.

01:20 I agree. I'm not going to deny that.

01:23 So, yeah, so we've had quite a lot of work, which took best part four months to complete.

01:30 But now it's done. I'm glad that we can get it out there and get it shown to the public.
