00:00 Lucia, do you know why you're here?
00:03 Bad luck, I guess.
00:06 Welcome to WatchMojo and Christmas came early this year as Rockstar dropped the trailer
00:10 for their long-awaited next mainline Grand Theft Auto game.
00:14 For this list, we'll be looking at things we noticed in the trailer as well as theorizing
00:18 about mechanics and story elements from the next upcoming Rockstar Epic.
00:24 Number 10.
00:25 Flashback?
00:26 Do you know why you're here?
00:27 Bad luck, I guess.
00:28 When we're first introduced to Lucia at the start of the trailer, she seems to be speaking
00:32 to her probation officer or maybe even lawyer negotiating her release.
00:36 With concept art of the game highlighting Lucia's ankle monitor, there's a strong
00:40 possibility the entire game could be told via flashback with Lucia or Jason recounting
00:45 the events that led to their incarceration.
00:47 The trailer's focus on the pair's "ride or die" mentality could also come into play
00:51 with the possibility of Lucia playing both sides in exchange for her release, or eventual
00:56 betrayal at the end of the game where the player needs to decide the outcome, similar
01:00 to GTA V's conclusion.
01:06 Number 9.
01:07 Small Scale
01:08 With GTA V, the heists the players could take part in grew in scale as the game went on,
01:13 even involving helicopters and planned escape routes.
01:16 While we're sure that our duo's escapades will grow in complexity as the game continues,
01:20 what was teased in the trailer seems to show the pair starting out a bit smaller time,
01:24 knocking over convenience stores and diners in the beginning.
01:27 This mechanic is also seemingly lifted from Red Dead Redemption 2 as players could throw
01:31 on a mask and rob any convenience store they walked into.
01:40 With reports also indicating GTA 6 will have more buildings for players to enter than ever
01:44 before, the limit to how much you could rob might only be capped by your wanted level.
01:48 Number 8.
01:49 GTA Radio
01:50 One of the longest running and most beloved aspects of the GTA series is undoubtedly its
02:02 radio selections.
02:04 Featuring original songs and radio shows, as well as some licensed tracks, players have
02:07 long found their own personal favorites dating all the way back to GTA 3 on the PS2.
02:12 With the more contemporary setting, as well as the focus on social media, players could
02:16 end up listening to podcasts instead of traditional radio shows that could also evolve alongside
02:20 the game's story, with commenters speculating on the player's antics in the world.
02:24 Given the ever-evolving underground music scene, we also wouldn't be surprised to find
02:28 numerous NPCs pushing players to download their newest tracks in the game's versions
02:32 of SoundCloud.
02:38 Number 7.
02:39 Social Media Stars
02:47 The focus on social media and its impact on society is one of the primary highlights of
02:51 the reveal trailer, with many NPCs living it up via social media posts which, ironically,
02:56 were recreated by Rockstar from real-life posts.
02:59 This newfound focus on social media could also translate over to gameplay, with our
03:03 protagonists escalating antics, turning them into folklore heroes of the digital age, much
03:08 like the real Bonnie and Clyde were back during the height of their crime sprees.
03:12 Players could also pick new missions or track down hidden quests via social media posts,
03:16 further ingraining this aspect into the game's overall narrative.
03:22 Number 6.
03:23 Select a Character
03:25 While the GTA series has always primarily been a one-protagonist experience, GTA V shook
03:29 up the formula by offering players three characters to take control of whenever they wanted in
03:34 between missions.
03:35 GTA VI seems to be scaling things back a bit with what seems to be our only two main characters,
03:40 Lucia and her boyfriend Jason.
03:42 Although the trailer focuses primarily on Lucia, we expect Jason to play an equal role
03:46 in the narrative while also giving players the opportunity to switch back and forth outside
03:50 of missions.
03:51 Don't let good tech go to waste, right Rockstar?
03:54 Also, according to recent leaks, players will be able to switch perspective mid-mission
03:58 while also being able to issue commands to the other character.
04:01 Number 5.
04:02 Living World
04:07 As the series and developer has evolved, so too has its NPCs, but none have been more
04:11 realistically represented than in Red Dead Redemption 2.
04:14 Not only did NPCs react realistically to any given situation, but they also had their own
04:19 daily routines they would follow that players could easily keep track of.
04:23 Likewise, Rockstar put a lot of effort into its wildlife as well, with the creatures of
04:27 the Wild West living their best digital lives throughout the game.
04:30 Rockstar is clearly putting all that tech to good use, as not only is the world of Vice
04:34 City bustling with countless NPCs, but there is also a significant focus on the game's
04:39 wildlife as well, something sorely missing from past GTA games.
04:47 Number 4.
04:48 Factions
04:49 There has never been a shortage of rival gangs for the player to contend with throughout
04:52 the GTA series, but GTA 6 might be the first game to let players directly affect their
04:57 interactions during these turf wars.
04:59 Recent leaks point to the player possibly being able to join or fight up to six different
05:03 factions within the world of Leonida.
05:06 We've already seen some of these factions with a group of dirt bikers, as well as the
05:09 High Rollers lifestyle and the Thrillbilly Mud Club in the recent reveal trailer.
05:13 Although it's unknown for sure if these leaks are accurate, Rockstar could be potentially
05:17 giving players more choice than ever over how their character fits into the wider scope
05:22 of the criminal underworld of Vice City.
05:24 Number 3.
05:25 Leonida
05:33 While many details still need to be confirmed, GTA 6 looks to be Rockstar's biggest game
05:37 to date.
05:38 Recent leaks have pointed to Leonida, Rockstar's version of Florida, being at least twice the
05:43 size of GTA 5's Los Santos, with many reports indicating that it could include as many as
05:47 four to five fully developed cities and surrounding boroughs.
05:51 We've already seen the likes of the Vice City Strip, but keen-eyed Floridians will also recognize
05:55 the Everglades as well as the Florida Keys and the famous Seven Mile Bridge.
06:00 Given the scope of GTA 6, it's not unreasonable for players to expect to be able to explore
06:04 the entirety of Leonida when GTA 6 finally releases.
06:12 Number 2.
06:13 Everything Old is New
06:27 With Red Dead Redemption 2 seemingly being the last game co-founder and head writer Dan
06:30 Houser worked on before leaving Rockstar, there was some concern that the new GTA would
06:35 lack the Rockstar feel the series has become known for.
06:38 However, with Dan Houser's brother Sam still in charge of the company, GTA 6 looks to not
06:42 only revisit Vice City, but also bring back some of the anarchy of the early GTA trilogy.
06:47 While more recent entries like GTA 4 and 5 took a more serious approach to their storytelling,
06:52 GTA 6 looks to be finding a balance between the two.
06:55 Much of the trailer focuses on the over-the-top antics of Vice City's residents while also
06:59 highlighting the emotional partnership between the game's two leads.

07:22 Number 1.
07:28 2026
07:36 While we're obviously hoping for the best and would love to see Rockstar hit their projected
07:40 2025 release window, the company has a track record of delays that's hard to ignore.
07:45 Given the developers focus on delivering the best possible experience, their last three
07:48 major games, Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto V, and Red Dead Redemption 2 have all
07:53 suffered month to sometimes year-long delays.
07:56 Given that this looks to be Rockstar's most ambitious game to date, and considering the
08:00 scale of what the team is creating, it's entirely possible we could see the game slip
08:04 into 2026, potentially making it one of the last true swang song titles for the 10th generation
08:09 of consoles.
08:10 Fingers crossed that we're wrong about this one.
